Why Work With Kopp Electric?
In-House Field Execution
Kopp Electric maintains experienced project managers, supervisors, electricians, and solar technicians in-house, giving us direct control over field execution, scheduling, safety, quality, and communication. Our team performs the core electrical and solar construction work with our own workforce rather than relying entirely on outside subcontractors.
We coordinate closely with owners, engineers, EPCs, construction managers, roofing contractors, utilities, equipment manufacturers, and other project partners while maintaining accountability for our scope from mobilization through testing, punch-list completion, and project closeout.
Equipment & Technical Capabilities
Kopp Electric equips our crews with the specialized tools, testing instruments, vehicles, and field equipment required for commercial electrical, solar, and generator work. Our capabilities support conduit and conductor installation, electrical terminations, insulation-resistance and voltage testing, inverter and switchgear service, commissioning, troubleshooting, equipment removal, and material handling.
Project-specific equipment—including lifts, rigging, temporary power, testing instruments, and other access or handling equipment—is planned and coordinated before mobilization. This preparation helps our crews work safely, efficiently, and with fewer disruptions to the customer’s facility or construction schedule.
Highly Skilled Workforce
Our electricians, supervisors, project managers, and solar technicians bring hands-on experience to commercial electrical, solar, generator, municipal, and institutional projects. Kopp Electric invests in ongoing training covering electrical codes, solar equipment, testing procedures, safety requirements, manufacturer standards, and evolving industry technologies.
This combination of field experience and continued professional development allows our team to complete complex installations, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, repowering, and decommissioning work with strong technical judgment, accountability, and attention to detail.
Workforce Development & Apprentice Program
Kopp Electric is committed to developing the next generation of skilled electricians through structured field training, experienced supervision, and hands-on exposure to commercial electrical, solar, generator, and public-sector projects.
Apprentices work alongside qualified electricians and project leaders while developing practical skills in installation, testing, troubleshooting, safety, electrical-code compliance, documentation, and project coordination. This investment helps strengthen our workforce and maintain consistent quality across every project.
Industry Partnerships & Project Reliability
Since 1994, Kopp Electric has built strong working relationships with owners, EPCs, engineers, utilities, equipment manufacturers, suppliers, roofing contractors, construction managers, and specialty project partners. These relationships help us coordinate materials, technical support, interconnection requirements, field changes, and project schedules more effectively.
Customers also benefit from an established New Jersey contractor with experienced leadership, a skilled in-house workforce, and the capability to support projects from preconstruction through testing, closeout, maintenance, and long-term service. We approach every project with clear communication, realistic planning, and accountability for our scope.
Safety, Quality & Accountability
Safety planning and quality control are integrated into every Kopp Electric project. Before work begins, our team reviews site conditions, potential hazards, access requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, equipment needs, project documents, and coordination requirements so our crews can perform the work safely and efficiently.
Throughout construction and service, experienced supervisors monitor workmanship, testing, labeling, documentation, housekeeping, and compliance with applicable codes, project specifications, and customer requirements. Issues are communicated promptly and addressed before project closeout.
Our Project Delivery Process
Project Review & Planning
We review the project documents, site conditions, electrical scope, schedule, equipment requirements, safety considerations, utility coordination, and responsibilities of each project stakeholder before field work begins.
Field Execution & Coordination
Our project managers, supervisors, electricians, and solar technicians coordinate labor, materials, equipment, access, shutdowns, inspections, and communication with the owner and other trades throughout construction.
Testing, Closeout & Support
We complete the required testing, inspections, punch-list work, labeling, documentation, and project closeout, then remain available for maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and long-term system support.
